Avionics and Interior Modifications for Navy
C-9B
Jetaire was awarded a contract to complete an avionics
and interior equipment integration project on the
Navy’s C-9B. The subcontract called for electrical
and mechanical integration engineering, logistics,
and kit manufacturing services. The Jetaire integration
kit added the following systems to the DC-9-30 aircraft
being converted to C-9B configuration:
Jetaire performed electrical and mechanical integration
engineering, logistics, and kit manufacturing services.
The kit manufacturing involved purchase, fabrication,
assembly and kitting of over 800 installation parts.
The logistics efforts involved creating 17 detailed
work instructions ranging from 20 to 120 pages each.
Master kit lists and modification strip lists were
created in the customer’s format. Existing interior
panel drawings were analyzed and coded for removal,
replacement, or modification. Jetaire’s on-site personnel
coordinated closely with the installation crews to
change drawings and expedite the installation.
